Alone.... « Thread Started on Jul 7, 2008, 10:57pm »
Fatal Beauty walked into this land she knew so well, Whispering Oasis. It had been so long since she had last been here, and than she had been with friends. Now she had found herself alone, which was okay, because she needed time to think. She found her life go crazy, in between the fights of the horses. It wasn't her fight anymore, and if she ever joined back up with them, it wouldn't be any time soon.
i walked into the Oasis i had heard about. i stopped infront of the water and dropped my muzzle to the water. i drank the water loudly, and quickly. i heard a twig branch break and i quickly lifted my head up to the sound. "is anyone there?"

Swift running, as large tawny paws pounded over soil and leaf litter after the sprinting deer. Something else had set the prey creature to running, forcing Miro to dash after it too soon. He ran his fastest, but the doe was slipping ahead of him. d**n! He stopped and stood panting as his prey made her getaway. It was certainly not the first prey he had lost, but failing in a hunt was never fun.
He was about to head back to the stream he knew of in the area, to quench his thirst, but a scent set his gaze turning the other way. It was neither in the direction the deer had escaped to nor was it the way back. It was a direction falling somewhere between the two.
The huge, heavy cougar started towards the smell of a she-cat. as much as he had told himself he wouldn't get involved with females again, he was overcome by instinct. He had spent the last couple seasons entirely alone...and scenting the other cougar made him realise how empty his life had become. He was wanting something more.
He smelled and heard water before he saw it, through the forest. Miro stepped out towards its edge and looked around.
i whinnied to the sound of the breaking twig. i sniffed the air and smelled a cougar. i knew that most cougars didnt swim so i darted it the warm refreshing water. i swam to the otherside and walked behind the waterfall to shield myself. i shook dry and waited. i smelled the air again and the cougar was getting closer. i wasnt afraid and i didnt want it to know that i was scared of it. i stepped out of behind the waterfall and splashed my hooves into the water. "im not afraid of you." i said.
Miro realised he had been careless and given his position away, though he could have sworn he hadn't made any noise. Well, now the horse was a safe distance away from him and fully aware of him, so he had no chance of catching it by surprise, so of course it could say what it wished. He decided to ignore it and focus on what had really brought him out here, the scent of a female cougar. Perhaps she was hunting the horse, and if the animal was focusing its attention on Miro it would provide suitable distraction sufficient enough for her to leap its back and draw first blood. Miro would be happy to join in the effort at that point. A horse made a nice meal for two.
Fatal Beauty could smell many animals nearby, the strongest two scents though was a cougar and horse. She had second thoughts on going any closer to the water, she didn't know if she wanted to see any animals. But curiosity was killing her, she had to know what the animals were doing there. Normally it wasn't a place for cougars and horses to be together, unless it wasn't planned that way. She gave a soft growl, to make it known she wasn't coming, they should have smelled her by know, but she wasn't taking her chances.
my red hair was getting dark from the water, but it was starting to dry. i loved seeing love birds and i smelled two cougars now. i pranced around the pool of water attracting the cougars to me. i whinnied and splashed up more water. i screamed making the cougars think that i was falling and hurt. i also loved fooling cougars and other animals. in a matter of seconds the cougars would be at the water and i, Scarlet O' Paradise, would be hidding.
Miro didn't know what the hell had gotten into that horse. He did know, however, that he was hungry enough to want to kill it. He was sure the other cougar was interested in hunting as well, but he decided to let her have some meat if he managed to make the kill. He just wasn't sure what to make of what the horse was doing. Was it meant to be a tease?
Miro slunk out of the cover and onto the lakeshore, stopping just short of the water. He sat down and let his long tail curl loosely about his front paws. "Don't mind me," he purred, "I'm just out to enjoy the lovely day."
"fine with me." i responded. "my name is Scarlet O' Paradise. whats yours?" i asked making converstaion to destract the cougar long enough for the other cougar to come.
"You can call me Miro." He sat where he was, waiting to see what the horse would do. He was so far not all that impressed with her intelligence, but prey, and people in general, often seemed dumber than they actually were. He would not underestimate her.
